BEAT CASTANZAS HIGH SCORE!

Located at the heart of our Upper Arcade is the classic video game
“Frogger.” This gaming gem was developed by Konami and published by
Sega in 1981 (just 7 years after our grand opening).

The original working title was “Highway Crossing Frog”, but according
to the Architect (played by Will Ferrell) of the 2003 short film “The
MTV Movie Awards Reloaded” he changed the name to “Frogger” though he
did not claim to create the game.

Featured in the 1998 Seinfeld episode enititled “The Frogger”, this
smash hit found itself being navigated across a busy New York street
by Castanza in an attempt to preserve his high score of 860,630.

Although Castanza’s high score had remained a legend (as no written
record proved a higher score), Pat Laffaye of Wesport, CT cemented his
own place in gaming history by posting a score of 896,980 in 2009.

If you can hop and jump your way through the traffic of our busy Plaza
into the gaming frenzy of our Upper Arcade, this “absolute classic”
will be waiting for you.
